Verisyse Used to Treat Myopic PatientsMany of Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons' patients live with myopia or severe nearsightedness. Until recently, many myopic patients were not considered candidates for corrective procedures such as LASIK. Now, Verisyse is available to these patients as a solution to wearing glasses.
The Verisyse procedure involves implanting a lens on top of the iris and behind the cornea. This implant provides an additional lens to offer high-definition vision. The natural crystaline lens is left in the eye to allow the eye to adjust for both near vision and distance.
Verisyse is an outpatient procedure that takes between fifteen and thirty minutes. Most often, each eye is treated individually.
